The Ivo10 Brazil Football Academy U-10 team won the 2021 Cotai Trigo D’ouro U-10 Football League, the first edition for this category held in Macau. With an impeccable campaign, the team secured the title in the penultimate round, in December 2021, with a 6-2 victory over Benfica de Macau. But the celebration only took place after the last game – 5-4 over i10 CSR, Ivo10 Brazil's B team in the competition – on Saturday afternoon (8), at Caesars Golf Macau, in Taipa. The title goals were scored by Paxton Choi, twice and named MVP; Hinderson Sun, Zak Robinson and Quinton Chan. Clarence Tong, Jon Samso Puig, Torin Ciechowski and Enzo Schutt scored for the i10.
The title could not belong to another team. Ivo10 Brazil didn't give their opponents chances with a fantastic campaign: 10 wins in 10 games played, ending with 30 points won. The team scored 69 goals and conceded just 13. The runner-up was for Benfica de Macau Eagles, with 24 points, followed by Must CPK, also with 24, but less goal difference. The Cotai U-10 was played in only one phase, with turn and return games.
Archie Peade, with nine goals scored and two assists, was chosen the best player of Cotai Trigo D'Ouro U-10. In the entire competition he was elected MVP (Most Valuable Player) in two matches. The young athlete, who moved with his family to Australia, did not participate in the last match and also in the closing ceremony. For this reason, Jasper So, his best friend, was the one who represented him in the delivery of the trophies.
Ivo10 Brazil's top scorer in the competition was Hinderson Sun, with 11 goals scored. Oscar Tang, improvised goalkeeper, was one of the highlights of the Cotai Trigo D’Ouro U10 Football League. In addition to being an MVP, he finished as one of the least leaked goalkeepers.
Also standing out with MVP trophies throughout the Cotai U-10 Football League were Nuno Sin, twice, Paxton Choi, twice, and Quinton Chan.
Other top scorers on the team besides Hinderson Sun, with 11, and Archie Peade, with nine, were Paxton Choi, with seven; Quinton Chan and Kaden Chan, with six each; and Giovanni Aquila, with five goals scored. The leader in assists was Jayden Tan, with five.
The director of Ivo10 Brazil Football Academy, Wiliam Gomes, spoke about another title won by his young athletes. “We are really happy with this achievement of the U-10, repeating the performance of our U-12 team, also winner of Trigo D’Ouro, and also with 100% success. Very gratifying to see these boys excel in games, managing to put into practice everything we showed in training. Congratulations to everyone”, he said, noting that the Under-10 team is commanded by coach Oumar Diarra.
“I want to take the opportunity to congratulate all those responsible for the organization, administration and conduction of the excellent competition that was the Cotai Trigo D’Ouro U-10 Football League. Just like the event offered to the U-12 youth, this one for the U-10 also enchanted us a lot. Our boys, as well as those of the other participating teams, did not have competitions to compete in this category, having to wait at least until the age of 14 to feel the taste of playing championship matches. Everything that happened means a lot to these children, both on the human side and on the sporting side. And that's why I make a point of highlighting the entire organization and congratulating them”, concluded William Gomes.
i10 CSR
With many quality athletes in the Ivo10 Brazil Football Academy in the under-10 category, in addition to the fact that each team has only five on the field, William Gomes and coaches Fernando Tifê, Oumar Diarra and Adzayi Felix decided to compete in the 2021 Cotai Trigo D'Ouro U-10 Football League with two teams: Ivo10 Brazil and i10 CSR. A curious fact is that the last match of the competition was between both teams, with an exciting match ending in 5-4 for the champions.
The i10 CSR finished the Cotai U-10 Football League in 5th place with 16 points. There were five wins, one draw and four defeats. The team scored 45 goals and conceded 38. Marco Agostinho was the best of the team in the competition with 10 goals scored, seven assists and twice chosen as MVP.
Other highlights were Dustan Mok, also with 10 goals and two MVPs; Enzo Schutt, who scored five goals and provided two assists; and Carlos Lin, with four goals scored and also two assists.
“We started the competition with a team below average age, but very talented boys. Some defeats during the competition happened because of this. Then we balanced the team of coach Adzayi Felix with some closer to the ideal age and the team achieved great results, including a 10-0 rout. The balance we made is the same as the champion team, we are very pleased to see our athletes show awareness tactics and technique in games, to present themselves as professional athletes, even when they are still children. Very proud of our teams”, said director William Gomes.
