The Macau unit of the Ivo10 Brazil Football Academy led a social action in favor of underprivileged children and teenagers in Thailand, from the The Tree Of Life project, which takes care of young people who dream of being football players and that, for this to become a reality, need initial support with basic materials such as uniforms, shoes, balls, etc. Furthermore, it is about giving opportunity and hope to many who, without sport, would not have a future in such an unequal world.

On the initiative of student Jacob, who created The Good Pass group – Share | Care | Reuse, more than 100 pairs of boots were collected, which were dispatched to Thailand by mail and received in the last week. Due to the distance and prohibitions at the borders caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, an in-person visit for the delivery of donations was unfeasible.

The action in Macau played by The Good Pass with the full support of Ivo10 Brazil featured donations from U-5 to U-19 students at the academy, mainly Jacob and his friends. Between September and October 2021, with locations indicated by the Ivo10 students, and with a lot of support from the academy coaches, they collected used boots, but in new condition, for donation. In just over a month of campaign, more than 100 were collected, an exact number of 129 pairs.

The executive director of the Macau unit, William Gomes, spoke about the campaign. “Inspired by our lectures on what football is like in Brazil and the humble origins and extreme poverty of many of the stars who are now idols in world football, Jacob started The Good Pass, a beautiful initiative to collect the boots for donation. At the beginning, our project was to help associations that take care of children and adolescents through sports in Brazil, because we have an Ivo10 unit in Rio Grande do Sul and all our DNA is Brazilian. Our campaign was designed for that. But, with the restrictions imposed by the Health authorities here in Macau due to Covid-19, shipments to Brazil have been impossible for more than a year, which changed the fate of these boots to The Tree Of Life, from Thailand, a project that I have the opportunity to visit and that really makes a difference in the lives of these young people”, he explained.

In addition to the boots, Ivo10 Brazil also sent training and game uniforms to The Tree Of Life, material from the Vitória Clube de Macau academy which, in February of this year, merged with Ivo10 Brazil, resulting in the arrival of coach Eric Peres for the regular classes and also for the command of the elite team of the U-19 category. The initiative of donating shirts, shorts and socks came from the president of the former football school, Filipe Ferreira.

Other football schools such as Benfica de Macau and South America Soccer Limited, SASL also participated in the action, on the initiative of The Good Pass.

All material sent to Thailand was distributed to young people participating in The Tree Of Life at the end of July. As a thank you to Ivo Brazil and The Good Pass, they recorded a video and also, through Instagram, published a thank you note. “The more we bless, the more we are blessed. We recently received donations of football boots, blouses and socks for the children who participate in our football school The Tree of Life and we still have left to bless the children of one of the schools we teach Football during the week. God is good!!! Praise and thank God with us for this provision. (sic)”.

The sequence of this social action in favor of underprivileged children and adolescents must turn to Brazil, in associations that also use sport to give hope to those in need. Macau remains under strong quarantine due to the return of positive cases of Covid-19, a global fight fought with great commitment by the health authorities of the Asian country and also by China. In the near future, as everyone wishes, the borders are open again. And this will greatly help the initiatives proposed by Ivo10 Brazil and its students.

Vitória Clube de Macau
In February 2022, Vitória Clube de Macau decided to join the Ivo10 Brazil Football Academy, ending its activities independently and reinforcing the project founded by football athletes Ivo and William Gomes by businessman César Soler, from CSR Sports.

As a result, the Ivo10 Brazil coaches team was reinforced by Eric Peres, who joined William Gomes, Fernando Tifê, Oumar Diarra and Adzayi Felix. The new coach, in addition to participating in the daily classes ranging from the baby class to the U-16, was tasked with leading the U-19 in competitions, especially the Macau League.

“Vitoria Soccer Academy is pleased to announce that it has decided to join forces with Ivo 10 Football Academy in a definitive merger. The vast experience and professionalism of the Ivo10 Brazil Football Academy management and coaches and our dedication and commitment to football will provide all our players with a great opportunity and better space to grow together, continue to develop and improve their football skills. As with all important decisions we have made over the years, we will work and communicate closely with our athletes and parents, partners and coaches to make the process of integrating the two clubs as smooth as possible. The merger of the two faculties will take place in February. Sincerely, Vitória Academy”, published in an official note on January 27, 2022.
