The i10 Brazil Football Academy's U-12 team makes its debut in the U-12 Trigo D'Ouro Football League, in Macau, on Saturday (18), at 9 am (22 pm on Friday, Brasília time), against Benfica of Macau. The clash will be played at Caesars Golf Macau, in Taipa.
According to William Gomes, who will lead the team alongside Fernando Tifê, an official competition for the U-12 category was something that Macau football lacked. “It will be really cool to compete in this competition because until then we didn't have anything official for the U-12. And not only for i10 Brazil but also for the other teams. Before, we could only see the team in action in friendlies matches or practice games. Now these kids will be able to feel the atmosphere of the game, of a game worth a title, a championship, which is excellent”, said the coach, who took the opportunity to congratulate the Trigo D'Ouro organization for the idea of promoting the U-12 League.
In addition to i10 Brazil and Benfica of Macau, four other teams participate in the competition: MAC, SASL, Show di Bola and Must CPK. The first phase of Trigo D'Ouro will have 10 rounds, with the teams facing each other in turn and return. The first four qualify for the semifinal. There are eight athletes on each team in two-half matches of 25 minutes each.
Still on the competition that starts on Saturday, William Gomes said that five of the athletes listed will also be competing in the U-14 Macau Championship, organized by the Macau Football Association. “For this competition now, we have five players who will compete in the U-14, so they will already take the opportunity to get more experience and rhythm of the game, it serves a lot as a special preparation for what is yet to come”, he concluded.
The opponent in the 2nd round, which will be played on September 25, at 11:30 am, is Must CPK. As with all U-12 League matches, the game takes place on the Caesars Golf Macau football field.
